Nice place near Polaris. Very open seating, they packed as many grills in as small space as they could so it feels a bit cramped. Service was a bit lacking, waiter got my drink rkder wrong after checking back three times. Busboy took away my requested bowl for rice and had a bit of a fiasco to get another. Food and chef were on point at least. Generous portions. Very entertaining chef. Food was cook just right and seasoning was great too!

Went here for a company lunch outing and overall had a great experience. The food and service were both solid—our party of 8 was well taken care of, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our chef was friendly and entertaining, doing all the classic hibachi tricks and gags. While not quite as impressive as some chefs I've seen at other Japanese steakhouses, he still made it fun. The only downside was that they were actively training staff at the table directly behind us during our lunch, which felt a bit out of place and slightly distracting. Otherwise, a good spot for group dining.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in the central Ohio area. The food is always cooked to perfection, exceedingly tasty, and should make for two good meals or a single really filling meal. I recommend adding egg-yolk sauce to your order to enhance the taste even further. The staff is always friendly and the cooks are skilled and always put on a good show for patrons. I would also like to mention that the included salad is also of a very high quality.

House of Japan in Columbus is a timeless gem that’s been a local favorite for as long as I can remember. The hibachi experience is a highlight, with skilled chefs dazzling diners with fiery displays and impressive utensil tricks. Their warm, festive happy birthday celebrations always bring smiles, and I appreciate the fresh fruit dessert, a light, refreshing alternative to heavy sweets. It’s a must-visit for a fun and flavorful dining experience!

I have been dining at this Japanese restaurant for the past ten years, and it has remained one of my favorite places for both sushi and Hibachi. Over the years, I have watched it maintain a consistent level of quality in its food, and the chefs—especially those at the Hibachi tables—continue to impress with their skill, presentation, and friendly energy. Whether you are watching a chef expertly cook steak and shrimp right in front of you or enjoying beautifully crafted sushi rolls, the craftsmanship is evident in every dish. The sushi here is always fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Classic rolls are executed perfectly, and their specialty rolls consistently offer a great balance of texture and taste. The Hibachi experience is equally memorable. The chefs combine showmanship with precision, and the portions are generous. The flavors are rich without being overpowering, and the vegetables, rice, and proteins are cooked to an ideal tenderness. What truly stands out after a decade of visits is the restaurant’s commitment to maintaining its standards. The staff is generally attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere is warm, family-friendly, and lively—especially around the Hibachi tables. That said, I have noticed occasional delays in service over the last few years. While the food has remained excellent, wait times for seating or for dishes to arrive can sometimes be longer than expected, particularly during peak hours. This hasn’t overshadowed the overall dining experience, but it is something to be aware of if you plan to visit on a busy weekend. Overall, this restaurant continues to deliver outstanding Japanese cuisine with reliable quality and a fun dining experience. Despite minor service delays, the wonderful food, entertaining chefs, and long-standing consistency keep me coming back after ten years—and I expect to return many more times in the future.

4.5/5 - We had a great date night at this location. Food = 4/5 - We got the Imperial Feast for two. I ordered white rice and my darling man opted for fried rice. I was worried about the oil content, and I was thinking long-term (aka leftovers, pic included and paired with home-grown yellow squash ). The soup was great, salad was tasty (could do with actual bacon bits, to up the taste-factor ante, but nobody asked me), and our chef was engaging and charismatic. Our food was great, and I particularly enjoyed the steak and vegetables. We both also ordered Sapporo beers to pair with our food, which is a great light beer, for those of you that are of age and enjoy beer. Also, the bean sprouts were a clear enhancement of all the flavors. Service = 5/5 - Five out of seven of us caught the airborne rice , so our chef was clearly superior. I don't make the rules. Atmosphere = 5/5 - No complaints. Don't throw coins in the pond. #KeepKoiAlive

We love this place! I know my rating is not all 5, but it’s only because your experience is different every time. We have had fantastic chefs, training chefs, great servers and mediocre servers. MOST of the time- food is always amazing. The chefs are always entertaining, even when training. This visit, the timing was off and shrimp was overcooked-which is a first. Everything else was good. Our server was great- so kind! Parking is fairly easy, and wheelchair access is good It’s very entertaining for kids, too. If you don’t go out much, save up and come here for the experience! The chefs play up to the kids - it’s very enjoyable! (We have been coming for the birthday dinners for many years )
